Free Printable DOPE Cards + Range Data Log
How they work together
- Before the first string — Open the Range Data Log. Fill section 1 (date, range, purpose, rifle) and section 2 (caliber, barrel, twist, suppressor, optic/zero, ammo, powder). Fill section 3 conditions before you shoot: temp, humidity, pressure or DA, wind, light, mirage, chrono setup.
- Chrono — Run strings on page 1 (and page 3 if you change ammo, charge, or the gun). Write each shot, then AVG, ES, SD, MIN, MAX. That average velocity is what you put in the DOPE card MV box.
- Groups — One group card per distance or string on page 2. Distance, position, rest, group size, MOA/MIL, POI vs POA, high/low and left/right in inches or clicks. Sketch flyers on the target box. Notes stay on the log so the laminated card stays clean.
- Build the DOPE card — After the session, open the DOPE PDF. Copy rifle, load, units, MV, BC, zero, and the day’s temp/DA. Solver or predicted drop goes in ELEV. Confirmed come-up from steel or a called group goes in TRUE. Use TRUE when they disagree. W5 / W10 are full-value 5 mph and 10 mph wind from that same session or your solver.
- Print the card — 4×6 from letter: pages 3–4. 3×5 from letter: pages 5–6. Straight onto 4×6 stock: pages 7–8 at 100%, not borderless. Straight onto index cards: pages 9–10. Cut on the marks, laminate.
- Next trip — New log page when the load, suppressor, or conditions change. New DOPE card when DA, zero, or the load changes. Keep old logs. That stack is how you see what the rifle actually does, not what the app guessed.
