FFL Transfer Fees in Cache Valley: What It Costs and How It Works

Buying a gun online is easy, but it has to ship to a licensed dealer (an FFL) before you can take it home. Here’s how transfers work at Rushworxs in Mendon and what they cost.

Before you buy online: let us quote it

The cheapest and easiest transfer is the one you don’t have to set up. When you order your gun through Rushworxs, the transfer is just $20 instead of $35 to $45, and we handle the ordering. Send us a link, UPC or make and model and we’ll quote the gun, tax and transfer up front. We can get most makes and models through our distributors.

Our transfer fees

  • $20 for a firearm ordered through Rushworxs
  • $35 with a Utah concealed firearm permit
  • $45 without a permit
  • $5 for each additional firearm on the same transfer

How it works

  1. Contact us before you order so we can send our FFL to the seller.
  2. Have the seller ship the firearm to Rushworxs.
  3. We’ll let you know when it arrives.
  4. Come in with your ID and fill out the Form 4473. We run the background check.
  5. Once it’s approved, it’s yours.

What to bring

A valid government ID with your current address. If you have a Utah concealed firearm permit, bring it for the lower transfer fee.

Suppressors transfer the same way now

Under ATF’s October 2026 guidance, suppressors go on a 4473 too, usually same day. See suppressors at Rushworxs.

If a background check is denied

Federal law doesn’t let us release the firearm. It stays with us while you resolve the denial or arrange for it to be returned or sold.

We serve Mendon, Logan, Smithfield, Hyrum, Wellsville, Providence, North Logan, Hyde Park and the rest of Cache Valley, by appointment. More details are on our FFL transfers page.
